Manager, Program Development
Kayla joined ClimeCo in 2021 as a Manager for Program Development. Before joining ClimeCo, she managed environmental projects and initiatives through the lens of historic preservation and worked as a Graduate Policy Consultant for a wholesale power provider. In this role, her duties involved monitoring proceedings at the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, participating in regulatory meetings, and drafting memos on environmental legislation and rulemakings.
Kayla holds a Masters of the Environment in Environmental and Natural Resources Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, both from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her focus in graduate school was on Renewable and Sustainable Energy, and she also studied the challenges and opportunities of clean energy in electric cooperatives. As an undergraduate, she completed her honors thesis on the impact of rising carbon dioxide on mature plant responses by conducting research at EucFACE (Eucalyptus Free Air CO2 Enrichment) at Western Sydney University in Australia.
Kayla likes to go alpine and backcountry skiing, explore new running and hiking trails, and experiment with baking various muffins and cookies.
