Lauren Mechak joined ClimeCo’s State College office in June 2018 as a Policy Associate where she works to track environmental market policy in the United States and Canada. Before coming to ClimeCo, Lauren studied carbon market policy at Duke University. While in graduate school, she worked part-time at the Duke Carbon Offsets Initiative to help Duke achieve carbon neutrality and wrote policy briefs for Duke’s Center for Science and Society. Prior to graduate school, Lauren worked several years writing technical reports based on statistical models at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. Her work impacted the genetic health of animals held in zoos and aquariums around the United States.
Lauren earned her Master of Environmental Management in Environmental Economics and Policy from Duke University in 2018, and her B.Sc. from McGill University in Biology in 2013.
